PPWR is coming – are you ready?

Thank you to everyone who joined last week's APAC SwedChams webinar with Geoffroy You from Nefab on the EU's new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

With the first requirements taking effect on 12 August 2026, businesses exporting to the EU should already be preparing for new obligations relating to documentation, traceability, recyclability, reuse and packaging reduction.

Key takeaways:

✅ PPWR should be viewed as a business priority rather than a compliance exercise alone.

✅ The August 2026 deadline is approaching quickly and requires early preparation.

✅ Non-compliance may result in penalties and market access risks.

✅ Packaging data, traceability and redesign will become increasingly important.

✅ Businesses that start planning now will be better positioned for a smooth transition.

A special thank you to SwedCham Singapore for organising and coordinating this webinar for the APAC Swedish Chamber network, and to Geoffroy You and Nefab for sharing valuable insights and practical recommendations.
