Happy Lunar New Year from the SwedCham Team!

This year, our SwedCham Team welcomed the Lunar New Year in a truly special way — dressed in Hanfu at the beautiful Confucius Temple in Taipei. As foreigners, wearing traditional attire was our small way of connecting more deeply with the rich heritage that surrounds us.

Lunar New Year is more than a festive celebration. It is a time of reunion, reflection, gratitude, and renewal. Across Taiwan, families gather for reunion dinners, temples welcome worshippers praying for health and prosperity, and homes are carefully prepared to receive good fortune for the year ahead. Red envelopes are exchanged, symbolic dishes are shared, and each gesture carries centuries of history and hope.

In the calm elegance of the temple grounds, we were reminded that this season is not only about fireworks and festivities, but about honouring heritage, strengthening community bonds, and stepping into the new year with intention.

As a chamber rooted in international exchange, moments like these reflect what we value most — cultural understanding, friendship, and building bridges between communities.
