AGM Members Dinner Speaker Spotlight: Christoph Saurenbach

As the SwedCham AGM 2026 draws closer, we are pleased to share that Christoph Saurenbach, Head of Trade Section at the European Economic and Trade Office in Taiwan, will join us as our guest speaker for the evening.

Christoph will speak on the timely topic “Navigating global turmoil – strategies for Taiwan and the EU”.

With extensive experience across trade, diplomacy, humanitarian coordination, and EU external relations, Christoph brings a broad and valuable perspective to some of the most pressing global developments of our time. Before taking up his current role in Taiwan in September 2024, he served in several key positions within the European institutions, including at DG TRADE, DG ECHO, the EU Delegation to Colombia and Ecuador, and the EU Delegation to China. Christoph holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from TU Dresden, a Master’s degree in Russian and Post-Soviet Studies from the London School of Economics, and a postgraduate degree in Public Financial Management from University College London.

His professional journey has also included work on EU-Ukraine relations, trade defence strategy, and international coordination of humanitarian aid in response to Russia’s war against Ukraine. Altogether, his background reflects a strong understanding of how geopolitics, trade, and international cooperation intersect in an increasingly complex global environment.

At this year’s AGM Members Dinner, Christoph will share reflections on how Taiwan and the EU can navigate today’s uncertainty and broader global shifts. This is a topic that feels especially relevant for our community in Taiwan.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming Christoph to the SwedCham AGM and to an evening of thoughtful discussion and exchange.
